Halloween 2009

Here are some pictures from our fun day/night. On the couch, Caelan and Camden pose before they go to daycare. At daycare, they walked to the local nursing home and gave candy to the people living there.
Camden and Daddy went with us for the first hour around the neighborhood, then our little football star had to go home to sleep. Cam had more fun than it shows in these pictures. One is taken right before daddy took him home. He was so tired. Caelan and I went with the neighbors and all of their relatives to the subdivision next to ours. It was packed with kids and super fun. It was also about a 3 mile walk all put together. My little hero did a great job. He told me he was the protector, the hero and, of course, Batman. He would yell, "CAR!" whenever there was a car. Every house we went to he said "Trick or Treat" and then proceded to sing, "Nananananananannanah Batman!" I'm not kidding when I say every house. He's pretty smart. They would give him candy, he would sing, and then they'd always give him more candy. Highlights were: the singing, telling daddy to look at his "loot" when he got home, running to every house, the interview with the cop (there was a house with a cop car parked in the driveway, he had to ask the cop questions about his job), and him telling me he wants it to be Halloween forever.

It was another successful Halloween of fun.

The Countdown Begins to Halloween

Tonight we went to the Derry's to watch Mike carve pumpkins and to help Shannon make caramel apples. Here Nicholas and Cam are hanging out.

We've Seen Better Days...But We're Hangin in There

Here the guys are playing. Camden just attacked Caelan with kisses. So many kisses. Caelan is being very tolerant here.

Caelan and Camden are getting better. You can just tell by Cam's eyes here that he is not feeling 100%. Despite his sickness, he is still getting into EVERYTHING. He can get anywhere he wants. He doesn't quite crawl, but he rolls and scoots to everything. It's definitely been challenging when I've been trying to get things done. Caelan is serenading Kally with his guitar in one picture, and Camden is playing with her on the other.

In the highchair picture, Camden is enjoying a banana. He loves them, even when he's sick. And Caelan just has a sweet smile.

Boys playing by the fire we light when we're all home together at the end of the week in an attempt to save on the heating bill.

I stayed home with the boys when they were sick, and Caelan took me to his church. He's currently sitting in the pew in this picture. He's about to give his sermon. The last funny picture is us playing. He made me the fireman with his sunglasses. He was a singer. I'm not sure how we fit together, but we all ended up in his church later.

Camden just looks like he should have been born this way. He has a pretty good grasp on the football for a 7 1/2 month old.

Cute Little Farmer

Two other parts of Caelan's fun weekend consisted of the new big wheel. Have you ever seen The Shining? Well, he rides that big wheel as furiously as that kid in the hotel. It's impressive.
The farm pictures are my favorite here. Papa took him to his farm. Caelan came back and said, "The cow has four stomachs, Mommy." He learned so much. He went through the corn, sat in the combine, and played on the "super seed?" I think that's what dad called it! He'll tell you he saw wild sheep and wild birds. I, for one, am thrilled he had this opportunity. I would be very disappointed if he ended up being a city slicker...whatever that means. Caelan is a spoiled guy, but we think he's spoiled with good things.

Caelan and Camden had a BLAST while Mommy and Daddy were in Ames. Aunt Tammy is a firefighter for Dakota City, NE, and she gave Caelan (and Cam) the sweet hook-up. They not only learned all about fire trucks, ambulances and the rescue boat, but Tammy also took Caelan and Danny for a ride in the truck. She EVEN started the sirens for him when they drove to Great Grandma's house. When they were about to take off, Caelan was worried he didn't have his car seat. :-)
Caelan is now decked out with Smokey the Bear stickers, tattoos, and pencils. He will tell you that Smokey the Bear helps prevent forest fires. These are pictures of their trip to the station. He is STILL talking about it.

Five Years Already

Here are some fun pictures from our Ames, IA trip. We took the cheesy "couple" picture in the hotel. Tailgating turned out to be a great time. We had to take a picture with dueling shirts. Let's just remember who won the game! We were able to hang out with Chris and Maria. One picture, you can see them playing the Wii at a bar we visited that was pretty much in their backyard. I also had to snap a picture of this dude's shirt. It was too funny. Before my babies left me, I snapped a couple of pictures at meal time. I missed them; however, I'm not sure they missed us as you can tell by the pictures above.

He's as Wild as his Hair

This kid is as crazy as that hair that just won't quit.

Apple Orchard

We had super fun at the Apple Orchard on Saturday. There was an extensive corn maze, tractor rides to pick apples, and a huge playground. We definitely had a dirty and tired boy when we got home.
